Opening Times

Our Gardens are open every day between 10:00AM to 16:00PM (last admittance 15:00PM, one hour before closing). Our Tearoom is open every day from 10:30AM to 15:30PM. Check our Homepage for Closure Notifications (details below*).

Garden Entry Day Tickets

You can purchase tickets online in advance for your visit to our gardens. Tickets are also available to buy on the gate.

We offer FREE PARKING on site. Your ticket provides access to the Gardens and Menagerie. There is also a Tearoom and Play Area on site which you do not require a ticket to access.

After you purchase your ticket online, you will receive an email with an order confirmation of your purchase. You can gain access to the gardens by showing a mobile screen image of your order confirmation. Please note we are a rural location and signal is not always the best so take a screen shot if you can.

If you experience problems with booking online, please advise a team member on arrival to the gardens who will be able to assist you.

Garden Closure Notifications

*Please be sure to check our HomePage before starting your journey to us. Our HomePage will give at least 2 hours forward notice of garden closure before the gardens gates are closed to visitors.

For visitors safety we close the gardens if the Met Office reports wind gusts greater than 39 mph.

Free parking is available on site, including designated parking for coaches.

If using your phone navigation, you can type in Castle Ashby Visitor Car Park which will take you directly to the entrance.

Public Transport:
The nearest Bus stations to Castle Ashby Gardens is at Yardley Hastings, it is approximately 2 miles away, 47 min walk

Visiting Time

This varies depending on your pace, we would advise that you allow your group at least two to three hours for your visit to Castle Ashby Gardens and also stop by at our tearoom afterwards. You could make it a full day, and also include a trip to the Rural Shopping Yard within the village of Castle Ashby where a variety of local shops together with a delicatessen offering delicious treats to take home can be found.

Tearoom

Our Tearoom is open every day from 10:30AM to 15:30PM.
(free access to our tearoom, no ticket required.)
We offer a lovely selection of cakes and drinks, as well as a selection of hot and cold food.
Any closure will be notified on our Homepage.
The largest table size is 6 seats, if your party require greater sized tables we could provide you a picnic with advanced notice, please email:

We do welcome dogs in the tearooms and can also provide a water bowl.

Picnics

Picnics are welcome anywhere within the gardens and are a lovely way for you enjoy your day. Bring along your picnic blanket and choose from an abundance of places to enjoy your food.

Tables in the tearoom are reserved for tearoom visitors only, so we ask that you do not eat your picnic at the tearoom tables.

Play Area

Bring the whole family and enjoy our exciting outdoor children’s play area. Our play area is equipped with an array of activities to keep your children entertained. (no garden ticket required)

Please note: The play area is not supervised, and parental / guardian supervision is essential for children using the equipment.

Dogs

Dogs are permitted in the Gardens and Tearooms.

We ask that you keep your dog under control and on a lead within in all areas of the formal gardens.
They may run free in the Arboretum.

Group Bookings

For groups of 12 or more, a discount of 20% will be applied to the check out when purchasing your tickets.
The tearoom seating can not cater to groups larger than 6 people. Please email in advance to arrange an alternative pack lunch option.  Tearooms@castleashbygardens.co.uk

Mobility Impaired Visitors

All areas of our site are accessible by wheelchair. We have mobility impaired toilets and extra wheelchairs if needed. Please note that our paths are made from compacted shingle, which some wheelchair users may find a little difficult.

Your accompanying Carer does not need to buy a ticket. Please bring supporting documentation to show on arrival, this can be in the form of a blue badge, DWP, DLA letter, or a letterhead communication from a registered care home.

Photography

We do allow prebooked photography in our gardens for personal and private use such as a couples shoots, a fee is payable on arrival and the orangery cannot be used. For any commercial or professional photoshoots, please email cag25@castleashbygardens.co.uk with your request and we will get back to you as soon as we can with our filming and photography application.
