Visitor Information

The Gardens have re-opened to general admissions. Please note that all tickets will need to be purchased on-line in advance please click this link to BUY – Garden Entry Tickets.

If you are an existing season ticket holder there is no need to book, just have your ticket with you. Please note that new season tickets can not be purchased at the current time.

Our Tea room, toilets, Menagerie, play area and a section of the Orangery are also open.

Our Shop remains closed at the current time.

Corona Virus

To help our visitors safely visit our Gardens we have implemented an on-line ticket system so we can limit the number of visitors to the Gardens and minimise contact with staff on entry. We have also introduced additional cleaning procedures and a one way system around the Gardens. Please remember to maintain a social distance from others and please don’t visit if you are experiencing any of the corona virus systems. Thank you.

Walled Garden Tea Room

Open 11.00am to 3.00pm


Booking not required but this will be monitored and may change. Please note we have no indoor seating at the current time.


Warning:- The Menagerie is an area for children primarily. Those people trying to issolate are adviced not to enter the Menagerie area. The Menagerie has a high concentration of Children that might not remember to follow distancing rules. There is a one way flow through this area without return.

Generally open all year from 10am until 4.00pm. On occasions it may be closed for maintenance (Nov-Mar)

Existing Season Ticket holders can still use their ticket to gain access to the Gardens without booking. We have stoped offering season tickets for sale to better control numbers. Season Tickets will be offered again in the future once we can be sure we can control the numbers on the day.


Disabled Visitors;

Wheel chair access into the gardens.
Please note that our paths are made from compacted shingle, which some wheelchair users may find a little difficult.


Picnics are welcome anywhere within the Gardens, we just ask that the tables at the Tea room area are reserved for Tea room visitors.


Dogs are permitted into the gardens providing that they are walked on a lead in all areas of the formal gardens. They may run free in the Arboretum.

Guide dogs are very welcome in our tea room.

Visiting Time;

We would advise that you allow your group at least 2 – 3 hours for your visit to Castle Ashby Gardens. However, why not also include a trip to the Rural Shopping Yard within the village of Castle Ashby where a variety of local crafts together with a delicatessen offering delicious treats to take home can be found.

Professional Photographs

Not available at the current time

We do allow professional photo-shoots within the gardens (example wedding photographs) however prior booking is required please email us for charges and to book.

Bus Stop

Please note that the nearest bus stop is approximately a 2 mile walk.

Severe Weather Conditions

Please note that the gardens will be closed in severe weather conditions for example high winds or snow. This is for health and safety reasons.
